I've never understood the expression "Ignorance is Strength." If we are dealing with essential opposites, shouldn't it be "Ignorance is Wisdom, " or "Weakness is Strength?"

People generally would like to offset the responsibility of thinking on to others which is why we often see "double think" it is nothing more than conformist sheep being conformist sheep, the only downside is that most people are conformist sheep and those who aren't are usually among the first to get iced. This quote might seem off but I think it is fitting

“Just as we seldom realize that we are growing old until we are already old, so do the contemporary actors in a major social change seldom realize that society is changing until the change has already come.”
