yes it might be annoying but ultimately you can just ignore it and in a few months it will die down like a lot of other trends.
and also just that we can quit gatekeeping everything since then it makes it impossible for anyone to get into anything or interact with the fandom because God forbid you discovered something when it was trendy/popular.
there's no rule that states that you had to be here before it was popular to truly like it or that if you were here before it was popular you're instantly better than someone else.

and like a lot of other people have pointed out it's behaviors like this that are why fandoms have such a problem with toxicity and people leaving and people not interacting with the fandom or not wanting to have interests because of certain types of OG fans that will rip them apart for discovering whatever it is during a trendy popular phase.
