Capcom Explains Why Monster Hunter World Isn't On Nintendo Switch

I feel really bad for people with only a Switch. I was like you for 18 years, now I have a PS4 and it’s so worth it for the exclusives alone. The plus is that I can play MHW.

Not strong enough, that simple. People need to relax. It doesn't mean in the future that MH won't be on a future Nintendo platform. So it is what it is.

I'm a big monster hunter fan and a big Nintendo fan. The moment monster hunter came to Nintendo I was disappointed, it was never the right fit and I wanted it on PS3 then. It was great as a portable game on psp but it needed to be on more capable hardware than Nintendo offered. Finally the switch came out and it seemed to me that Nintendo was now the perfect home for monster hunter, powerful enough tech for the game but also that bonus of portability to play with my friends locally like we did in psp. Then it was announced for PS4. A frustrating turn of events!

This does make sense. I understand a game like World needing multiple years to develop. They were probably like two-thirds of the way done with World when Switch kits were avaliable.

Rather than wait for a XX release that likely won't happen, pray for a Portable 5th on the Switch. It might not be exactly like World in scale but it's the best we can hope for.
