THANKING MR PETE for this great share about us here in Southern California. You are a kind man.
Hello mini drill press. Religion does not judge a good man for his love for his tools, tools particularly from Starrett. Never heard of this sensitive term (but we say it all the time) but our little tiny drill and tap machines give to you great fill so we do not brake too many bits. We like this drill press because the little motor travels up and down with the drill spindle. Nice speed controller you added for the drill press.
What those auction people do at those sales should be a crime.
Lyle did you know that as watchmakers we can rebuild dial indicators, they are like simple watch movements or complications we never thought these two trades would cross when we started but they did and do. 1/15 is what we use a lot about it around here as well as 1/8th.
GREAT date of the drill press research and we learned to contact the companies that we are still in business like Bodine or Hagen & Goebel they are all really nice and like helping through the serial numbers and such.
Hello little drill chuck.
They are really expensive actually all of the micro machining machines and tools cost a lot of money small does not mean less money, people always think so though?.
19:50 in you got us, my eyes flew out of my head that little drill set in the metal box what a GREAT and I mean GREAT set Lyle.
Sorry for the long comment today.
YES that chuck fits so well SWEET, please buy a safe mr.pete that drill set will only be safe in a safe LOL.
Yes you need that SMALL vise, it helps with the feel for use. What do you own a warehouse you keep all of these props in who else but you mr.pete, who else has a milk shake blender but you?
I can only remember Bob's Big Boy bringing to me my shake and the metal cup with the extra and the syrup in it to top off as I drank that great shake chocolate down, oh the memories Lyle. ?

Thanks Mr. Pete for an intelligent channel, free of politics, profanities, and silliness.

always a pleasure to watch your vids, Just today I made a 50 minute drive to San Jose from South San Francisco, the mission was to buy a brand new Stihl trimmer for the lawn. Got that acomplished, than I had enough time to treat myself to the capitol flea market there, there are 3 major ones around San Jose area here, I went to this one as it is decent and was the closet, Well long story short I found one of these beauties there, the guy had it inside his container locker when he went to find me an army cap, he called me in to try the size and LOW AND BEHOLD I see this germ sitting in there hidden from plain view, it was new and never used, I asked how much and he said $30, I was delighted, I got him to drop $10 off the price, paid $20 and was on my way, It has the 1/8" No 3 keyless chuck on it, made in JAPAN, I put in a 1/16 bit and fired it up, runs true, I am delighted with the find, I love to work on miniature stuff and love these miniature machines, about time I got a true working miniature drill press that functions like the real things. Mine has a 3 way toggle switch, same motor as the one that is initially featured in your vid here, so the middle position is off and the other 2 positions are high and low. I also have a precision medical motor that has a speed controller that I can mount here easily but I will use this at low belt speed and keep the motor on high to prevent it heating up. Also most of the parts are aluminum, its a great machine, I would have preferred cast metal for base and table.

Hi Mr Pete. My good friend Jerry was a very active motor repair man, machinists, welder fabricator. Two or three times a year he would smash his finger tip and get that big blood blister under his fingernail. I know you know how that feels. He had a little trick to relieve that pressure under the fingernail that made it hurt for so long. He would get a # 60 drill bit, put it in his precision drill press and drill a little hole in his fingernail, just deep enough to let that blood out from under the nail. Worked like a charm!

Mr. Pete... You are so charming, full of knowledge and life! I love all of your videos and learned so much from you. This summer I plan to visit a few flee markets as well as estate and yard sales to find some additions to my home shop. Your the best!

A beautiful little chuck, especially to have been in the box that long. Unusual to see a drill press run without some wobble. Never liked malts, just couldn't stand the taste. Thank you for giving us 25 minutes of your time this morning. Probably more like 12 hours with editing and up loading. I once made a sensitive drill press cry!

I bought my Cameron drill press about 15 years ago. I use it with carbide pcb drills when I am making circuit boards. The only times I have broken those bits is when I drop them putting them on or removing them from the chuck.

Too much coffee!
Your cracking yourself up cracked me up.
I never thought about it, but the lack of sensitivity of the regular dril press now seems quite obvious.
Thanks.

The motor on your second ("newer") drill press has the look and shape of a domestic sewing machine motor, and the new orange translucent belts that you show look very similar to a sewing machine belt. Maybe folks can find belts to fit these drill presses from a sewing machine belt supplier.

Your small drill index looks very familiar. I inherited one from my father in law years ago. I don't pull it out very often but there have been a few times I needed a tiny drill bit for some project. I use a hand-held pin vise chuck with the micro bits, not a drill press, as I don't (yet?) have a

And as mentioned below, Craftsman drill presses sometimes came with a motor tilt function for quick belt changes. I've got a 150 I picked up a year ago with that feature. As a bonus, the drill press also came with a multi-speed center pulley. Score! Thanks for this video.

Mr Pete, I sure enjoy your videos. When you're all perked up on coffee, I set the playback speed to 2x, and wow you really go to town then.

I really enjoyed this video. You were back to your "spunky" attitude. It's hard to not laugh along with you, when you "crack yourself up".
