Skoda Karoq: Park Assist - real life test :: [1001cars]

Škoda Skoda Karoq can be equipped with Park Assist system. Once the sensors find a space large enough (i.e. length of the car + 80 cm), the system lends a hand with the parking manoeuvres. The driver just has to accelerate and brake.

My wife was always a bit scared to drive this car in town due to it's size when parking, after teaching her the system she is now much more confident and likes to drive it!

The Park Assist feature is great - providing it identifies a bona-fide parking space. Unfortunately the algorithm that locates an available space is a bit iffy, and you have to watch like a hawk because on at least two occasions mine has tried to reverse into a bay that was already occupied! That said, when it does work the steering is spot-on. It's an absolute scream, and you do get some really funny looks on supermarket car-parks.
