Science on Saturday: Forensic Science in Crisis--How Proteins Can Help

Lawrence Livermore National Laboratory scientists Brad Hart, Deon Anex, and Katelyn Mason, along with Dougherty Valley HS teacher Katherine Huang, talk about how traditional forensic methods have come under increasing criticism by the scientific community, leading to their discontinuation or reduced effectiveness in criminal prosecution.

This talk, the first of the 2017 "Science on Saturday" series at the Bankhead Theater in Livermore, discusses LLNL's Forensic Science Center (FSC), a multidisciplinary center focused on the development of new science-based approaches to forensics, and how the center is addressing an entirely new science-based approach to human identification.
