The SSD should really include that small screw. Such an inexpensive piece that could ruin the install experience of you don’t have it. My older more expensive motherboard didn’t have it. But luckily my newer cheaper motherboard did.

M.2 SSDs are sooo good, faster read and write times compared to the 2.5 inch SSDs, way easier to install with no need of a drive bay tray adapter or SATA/Power cables to connect, just plug it in and screw it down! Only downsides to them is the limited amount of M.2s you can install on your MOBO(although that is based on the type and model that you buy/own) and the price for storage amount where you can usually get double the amount of storage for a 2.5 inch SSD for the same price of an M.2 that has half

New board has a heatsink to cober m.2 and transfer the heat.

I've just bought one, and i didn't have a screw as my motherboard was a gaming system I bought in 2019, so I had to take a screw from my model truck build that I am building

Given u are I talking it in a desktop u should hv used the heat that came along with it in the box…. It really does help on keeping it cool

Don't forget to update you firmware through Samsung Magician especially if it starts with a 3 because it corrupts itself.
