ESA astronaut Alexander Gerst reflects on his second International Space Station mission called Horizons by reading an excerpt of Jack London’s novel “White Fang” first published in 1906. Images show the launch into space on 6 June 2018, docking with the International Space Station, Earth views and scenes from Alexander’s six-month stay on the orbital outpost.

It's a shame politicians and the military would have us all at war with one another. When we could be so much more. Our imaginations gave us Star Trek and people scoff saying science fiction. Yet we use our imaginations and we build the ISS and send rovers to Mars, while Voyager1 leaves our suns influence, and Voyager 2 not far behind.
Thank you to all who work for the benefits of our species. The universe is amazing and we are a small part of the Amazing.
