DATA:

I want to increase your awareness of how antibiotics can affect children later in life. There is a very important link between what goes on in the digestive system and what happens in your brain.

You have close to 100 trillion microbes both inside and outside of the body, most of which live in your gut. If those microbes are altered in a certain way, it can create huge effects on your cognitive state and your emotional state.

Penicillin is the most commonly prescribed antibiotic for children. Antibiotics can change the type of microbes living in your gut, as well as the number of microbes and the ratios of microbes to fungus.

One big effect of an altered microbiome is an alteration of the gene expression of both the frontal cortex of the brain and the amygdala, which has a lot to do with fear responses and stress responses.

This could affect your memory and put you in a fear state (anxiety) and a stress state (high cortisol). So, antibiotics early in life could potentially affect a child’s cognitive and emotional state later in life.

In other videos, I also talk about how it can affect the immune system, increase the risk of allergies and asthma, and slow down metabolism.

Antibiotics given to children can potentially increase the risk of certain things later in life, such as:
• Depression
• Autism
• Anxiety
• ADHD

What you can do:
• Be sure the antibiotics are necessary
• Make sure the child doesn’t consume foods that contain antibiotics (buy foods that are organic, grass-fed, and antibiotic-free)
• If the child has to take an antibiotic, make sure they also take a probiotic at the same time, and after they stop taking the antibiotic
• Allow the child’s immune system to learn from the environment
• Keep key nutrients high (zinc, calcium, and vitamin D)

When I was a kid, I was given too much penicillin because I got strep throat every year. I became severely, deathly allergic to it in my early 20s. Thanks for this great info Dr.B ☺🎆

This is so very true! My mother followed so many doctors advice & pumped him with so much anitbiotics in his youth without the proper nutrition. He's still suffering with anxiety& depression in his 20s

I am 36 and I took antibiotics for EVERYTHING as a child. I constantly had strep throat, severe ear infections w/blisters in ear canal and some reoccurring strange virus that would make me burp a stink bomb lol. I was so easily stricken with whatever was going around as a kid, and the go to was always antibiotics. As I was growing up they gave me antibiotics for acne as well. Now I never take them, and I rarely catch anything thank God.

Last time my doctor gave me intibiotics I threw them all in the rubbish bin. I decided to let my own immune system do the work.

A doctor in Ireland prescribed me antibiotics for 1.5 years for acne when I was 14 years of age. Unbelievable now looking back at it. Actually child abuse what they were doing.

My Name is Colin. I live in Chester. 3 months ago I diabetic and couldn’t go 2 hours without eating. I took Dr Berg’s challenge to go without sugar for a month. Now I glucose is down to 33 (Hb1ac) and I am intermittent fasting. I tell people it is not a diet it is a lifestyle change. I believe that I may have been insulin resistant from a very young age. Thank you Dr Berg. PS I have found other people helpful but this where it started. My BMI is 25.5 (25) is the top end of my range.

Excellent video! Take oregano oil or water fast for 2-3 days to balance/prep the gut flora. Then take 36-40 strains 100B cfu probiotics after.

Every word spoken is absolutely correct. My kid has mild adhd and I did find that his cognitive skills dip if he is on an antibiotic. Shall try the probiotics for sure 👍

I was given antibiotics as a newborn due to a high fever. It was injected bc I was too small to take pills orally.

The life long affects were crazy, I was always feeling anxious as a kid, and I was hypersensitive. I got sick almost all the time, and now I'm 21 my depression got worse in a couple years lately.

I know it's hard, but I'm fighting everyday. I hit the gym, I study hard, I do everything as my best to prove that maybe I'm not really that bad.

But in fact, no matter who you are, what you are. We all deserve to live and to be proud of ourselves

My parents were overzealous when I was a child so I basically grew up on a diet on all these. Your video makes so much sense. Hope your videos still stay on YouTube. HAHAHAH

Yep. And what are kids forced to do these days?
Wash hands excessively, mask up, quarantine. They were told last year to stay inside.
Poor kids.😢.
...and they eat a ton of sugary snacks and refined carbs.
It’s a crime, really.

Actually there's a "pandemic of antibiotics" and "C-Section born" all this Stuff is negative way to children's grow up!

I was on antibiotics for a long time and after a few months lost the ability to walk. Then neuropathy came forward. Then an autoimmune disease. Now I am waiting on my results for MS. AT 30!!!! Prior to surgeries and being on antibiotics I had no issues but the domino effect afterwards has basically ruined my life. (This was as an adult, also got c-diff)

Thank you, thank you, thank you for this video! I have been reading about this a lot, especially having 3 grandbabies under the age of 4, including a 1 week old. You have summarized it all perfectly! When my son was born, I breastfed him for 11 1/2 months (then one day he just stopped), but he did not get sick whatsoever until he was breasfed! As soon as he stopped, within days, he got an ear infection. Of course the first thing his Dr. prescribed is an antibiotic. After that, every time his Dr. wanted to prescribe the same thing for every little sniffle. Knowing what I know now, I would have never given him most of that horrible medicine. So, I am forwarding this video to my Sons & Daughter in laws right now! This is one of the most crucial information we can have, so Thank you again!!!!
