#WARFRAME | Is The Man in the Wall Learning about us too?

Harkening back to a previous video, I made reference to the Friedrich Nietzche "if you gaze for long into an abyss, the abyss gazes also into you" and with the man in the wall seeming to change A LOT recently, I had to revisit this question in my mind. As my little man in the wall saga continues, this is what occurred that got me thinking about the relevance of the aforementioned statement.

If Wally grows stronger the more we know about him, does that mean, that the only real way to kill him is to remove any and every sign of him ever existing?

You cannot kill a part of yourself, you only hurt yourself in trying.

When you gaze into the abyss, the abyss gaze back at you

In the best cosmic/eldritch existence/horror fashion, it is taken straight out of Lovecraftian, Harlan Ellison and Stephen King stories. It flourishes on humans very nature, curiosity and seeking knowledge that can be proven, "truth", laws and foundations of our universe, planet and dimensions we exist in. This is what Wally seeks, the addition of Drusus putting it into words was indeed such a great and magnificent framing of the very issue we are facing with the Indifference... In being acknowledge, it grows, it begins to exist, where there ones was only void, now there is something, matter, acknowledgment, conceptual embodiment...

The one where he hangs from the ceiling in the orbiter has genuinely jumpscared me a few times

I mean he already knows a lot about us .... Even before we knew more about him let alone he find us first ... He was interested in us.

I have this idea...

I heard somewhere but I can't quite remember where or when that the more we think about something or someone, the more power we give it.

An example I could give is Ghosts. Regardless if you believe they exist or not, it doesn't matter to this point. The point here is, you hear something strange in your house. Now, it could be the wind, but if you believe in Ghosts, you'll believe it's a Ghost and become scared whereas if you believe it's just the wind, it's just another noise.

This is a little janky but hopefully you understood what I meant.

Taking this to Wally, the Tax Evader (still waiting on his rent btw, thinking my Ship is free). When it comes to Wally, maybe by thinking about him, we give it power but more importantly and as Drusus described, a Parasite, it exists by feeding off of us thinking about it.

That could explain why it appears at random on our Ship, when we least expect. Because we aren't thinking about him and he needs to remind us that he does, indeed, exist. If he didn't show up anymore, we'd eventually forget and thus he would die.

They say someone never truly dies until no one remembers them anymore. It could be the case here. A Voidborne entity who fights for its survival by living off of the memories that others have of him.

Now, I myself don't believe this theory because of the whole Albrecht Entrati thing. He went to the Void and encountered Wally there. That means he already existed before even being "discovered". It kinda nullifies the theory.

My honest opinion on Wally is that he should pay rent, the little shi-

The latest update changed all the old operator voice lines in quests to be the new VA's. Only the Operator Barks in mission are still the original VA.

Small gripe: the text at the bottom of the short is a bit hard to read with the same-colored title/source text in front of it. 😅

The Indifference embodies what it’s like to be a child. Unpredictable, insistent, and ravenously curious.
The question is does it wish to become an individual, self-actualized, or does it want to merge with us? To subsume all of reality to fill the absolute nothingness from whence it came? The later is not a good prospect for anyone, even It. The former could go anywhere.

When you finished The New War after Whisper update, Wally always appeared taunting you. After the Lotus Eater update and finishing the 1999 demo, Wally still appears but extremely rare since in the lore, you will faced them in 1999 personally. The confrontation would ironically made Höllvania into Duviri situation where time remained in perpetual cycle.

Damn he's implanting himself in people's minds to weaponise conceptual embodiment!

The words he says are now revealed to be: "VOULL NE XATA VOK, MARA LOHK" which I spent several days translating and I came up with a rather logical "Want to know the truth, Voidchild?"
And if what you're suggesting is true, it kind of aligns perfectly. He is the Void, after all, so Tenno would thus be his child.

Honestly, i don't think Wally is actually evil. Evryrhing it does seems to make our Tenno character stronger and better connected to the void, to it. Its not trying kill its rival, its making a best friend innits own chaotic understanding of friendship.
