I made my living at sea for 15 years. I was on American flag vessels. Any time there were lots of Filipinos on board we were going to have a great trip. always lots of music, laughter, and something good to eat. Incredible shipmates. Happy holidays to you and your shipmates.

Thanks for serving at sea keeping things moving. I Remember many holidays celebrated while on duty. Sailors, public servants, doctors, nurses, other medical personal, military, and several other groups do what they need to do at all times to keep this whole World going. It was our honor and because of love of Family that drove us to do what we did and do. Again " Thank You ".

That's awesome that you are on a ship with a captain that not only will let this happen, but joins in. Merry Christmas to you, the command staff, and crew, and all the people following along on the adventures.

People need to understand that this single ship, and all those working hard, are just a small part but vital to the global economy.

The people you see in this video are the nameless soldiers of the global economy. They deliver the goods the world needs to consume, in massive quantities, and they do it without fanfare or recognition. A cruise ship leaving any US port receives more fanfare, and that is nothing but leisure purposes.

The same people working merchant ships are also the guardians of life, often delivering massive amounts of food aid to starving countries.

Its the holidays, and a huge part of the world would be missing out of what it really means without their silent contribution.

Chief, very nice job.
I just retired as air crew last November 15th after a total of 43 years of missed holidays and events. I thought it would be easy to slip into the being home all the time roll, however this season, even though I am glad to be home with family I find my thoughts drifting to those still out there, doing the job and being away from loved ones.
Merry Christmas to you and yours, and thanks for taking the time to show us your story.

I know what it's like to be thousands of miles from family during the holidays, and I know what it's like to be at sea for long periods of time. But you Pinoy guys do it year after year, and I'm humbled by the effort and sacrifices you make! Mad respect from the US Navy.

Merry Christmas! It almost seems like yesterday when we had the Christmas wishes last year! This year I am currently onboard a vessel with full Filipino crew. Decorations are up, music is playing luckily we stop loading in a few hours and then I'm sure the party will really start. A few days in port for them with no working (Although the gales we are currently experiencing may limit the roasting of the pig on deck unfortunately) Have a good one Chief to you and all your family aboard and at home!

Great video as always Chief. While it is sad that each of you have to be away from home for the holidays, it is comforting for me too know that there are hundreds of ships out there across the world, with each of the crews making the holidays the best they can be. Have a very happy holidays Chief, and a special thanks to you and your crew and all of the crews out there in the world, making it possible for the rest of us to live our lives.

Aside from the fun and games, you guys ARE a family of sorts.
You depend on one another for the day to day operation of the ship and the business of being out to sea.
Being out to sea, "easy, " comes when the job is done. Cutting corners can get you hurt or worse!
Have a great holiday Chief and all your crew.
Be safe and keep it floating upright.
Peace from an old salt... <S>
