Ouch, so am I not an audiophile because I could only afford an lp120btxusb(don’t understand the Bluetooth for vinyl idea whatsoever but that’s a whole other topic)? I’ve since added a Goldring e3, acrylic platter, cables and stabilizer with bubble level. I feed it into my Klipsch powered tower speakers, the R28PF which I find to be really high quality bang for your buck and perfect for someone in a rent home or apartment(I doubt I could play this in an apartment complex). I added a Klipsch R100SW subwoofer which seamlessly added so much I just found it incredible. I’ve been working on it for awhile and have put a lot of love and care into perfecting the sound and performance of my system. I consider myself an audiophile. I also found her setup and treatment of the vinyl to be pretty funny and a crime(who holds vinyl that way? When you’ve got it in your hand it feels like you shouldn’t touch the surface ffs). I’d put my setup against a lot of the ones I’ve seen on YouTube etc and I guarantee it would impress anyone that can imagine about $2k(maybe less, maybe more, im ball parking and I did get good deals because im on a budget) can buy an “audiophile grade” system. So can anyone tell me how much more I have to spend to be in the club? I personally think anyone can be an audiophile and the definition shouldn’t be about how much everything costs but instead a love for audio and the need for the best sound possible. That constant journey. The lp120 isn’t cheap. $400 isn’t chump change. I’ve probably got almost another $400 in improvements. I find some of this audiophile nonsense to be so disrespectful and sometimes disgusting, it makes me wish I didn’t have that drive to be chasing perfection (within my budget, actually beyond it, which feels even worse when someone rags on my system without ever hearing it.) because it’s gotten to the point audiophile is synonymous with “snooty prick that thinks spending a shit ton of money (whether they actually have it or not) on stereo equipment equals the best stereo equipment and talks down to others that are doing the best they can. Some of those others like myself have built systems that will rival more expensive ones because they love music and all things sound, not being a cunt to others. I’m not impressed by your system that Visa will own forever. That’s my rant. Like I said, I agree with the majority of these comments. But that TT can be enhanced into something special. I need to take a test to see if I qualify to join the club. Maybe that’s it 🤔
