KOLMANSKOP – The Ghost Town of Namib Desert

Kolmanskop is a ghost town in the Namib desert, 10km inland from the port town of Lüderitz, Namibia. This is also the same village from the Tame Impala - 'The Slow Rush' Album Cover.

This is my first video in the Namibia series, and my cinematic take on this abandoned ghost town which was once a very small yet very rich diamond mining village.

I am totally flabbergasted., I was really depressed today for many things happened in the last days that were breaking my heart. As a young woman (75) painter & fotografer , i got immediately so inspired, that my pain was fleeting away .
I started drawing those images which in some way, create hope, the light behind the doors and windows. light and shadow .... all those earthy colours I have always been fascinated by closed doors, what's there behind? You opened the door to my heart again.
