EXTREME Marine Heatwave in the North Atlantic Ocean & North Sea

Many of us in the UK will have experienced a heatwave over the past few weeks, with hot sun and intermittent thunderstorms becoming a common occurrence but satellites have also observed something else.

Ocean temperatures around the UK and Ireland are over 9 degrees Fahrenheit or 5 degrees Celsius above long-term averages for this time of the year, sparking concerns on how this will affect marine life and weather patterns later in the year.

Scientists are noting the extreme conditions, it’s not often the sea around the United Kingdom has a problem with overheating but there is now serous concern regarding how it will affect the marine ecosystem, the fishing industry, local wind patterns and potential rainfall and flashflood event that may result.

Don’t forget that we live in just a small part of time humans have been around. Droughts, floods, chaotic weather have always been a part of the human story throughout history. For those living through strange times it seems like the end, but it is not likely so.

Sorry for the re-upload folks, but there was an awful typo in the original version and so I just wanted to get rid of it. Thanks to everyone who is supporting me in this venture! 👍

For people thinking I’m just making a video on climate change fear-mongering, I’m not. This is a specific, real change in the North Atlantic and North Sea. I explain the likely explanation - less dust in the atmosphere from the Sahara, together with the beginning of El Niño and also approaching a solar maximum. There’s probably lots of factors that have led to this. But it can’t go unnoticed 👍

The ocean here by North Carolina in the US is insanely hot. It didn't even get this hot last year at any point in some areas I've swam.

Thanks for this quick and factual weather news update. Long enough to get educated without reaching a documentary format

we're suppose to have snow at beartooth pass in montana which everyone is freaking out that we might have another flood cause it's not normal to have snow late in June of 2023

For fun, I might do a back of the envelope calculation on how much energy it takes to heat that much water an extra 5-7C.

We're coming into an El Niño period here in the south pacific. It is going to be extremely hot and extremely dry for the next couple of summers. It will be the hottest in living memory. We've been experiencing La Niña for the last couple of summers which meant record rainfall. These are weather cycles that are caused by the ocean temperatures. It's kinda shit really

Everyone ignores the Earth's internal variations when talking about sea temps and overall atmospheric temperature. El Nino, anyone? The changes prior to the Younger Dryas, which pretty much mirror its ups and downs over and over long before humans became industrial, suggests an internal cause rather than anthropogenic. The water cycle always evens things out again. Good to see the UN needs to attach their own propaganda to YT videos anytime you even discuss these matters in a scholarly and honest fashion.😒

A very interesting and rather frightening video. Thanks for making this important film.

Oh come on, l can remember the early 70s & the weather was the same & guess what, yes climate change was being preached to everyone back then. Why doesn't anyone realise that earth changes are something that needs to happen & has happened many times in the past. Humanity needs to stop complaining & get on with life.

My favourite thing about YT, is when it automatically subscribes you to random channel’s.

This is concerning, though we've all felt the change happening around us, if your from my generation, feeling hopeless because we know this was coming in the early nineties and to be honest environment issues should of been dealt with from that point but so few people cared and the oil companies we're to busy getting rich and screwing everyone eles but I digress even in the late eighties we knew things had to change and the tipping point to disaster was 2015, we're well past that and at this point it's really to little to late and yet we need to do something, we need to do all we can to help save our environment... Though saying that, I've been doing my part for over thirty years and it really hasn't help much, but maybe if more people do their part too... Here's hoping were not all on a one way trip to extinction and it's not to late to save our selves... 😞🐈👍
