Thief's spear rips boons automatically in chain 3. I play deadeye, as you do, but in full celestial gear with traveler runes and relic of rivers; shadow arts 2, 2, 1; deadly arts 2, 3, 2; deadeye 3, 3, 3; spear and shortbow like you have; 4 cantrips to feed Fire for Effect; and like that you can have 100% uptime on quickness, fury, 25 might, alacrity, protection, regen, and all 3 types of damage: strike, condition, and lifesteal, mainly using spear chain 3 and the stealth attack after every chain once revealed drops... and that fighting style rips 3 boons off up to 5 mobs every chain, as Lotus Poison (deadly arts trait) triggers the extra 2 boons rips from Shattering Assault (move 3 in chain 3). You should have no trouble staying alive with Leeching Venoms using that chain, too. Plus, lifesteals bypass all defenses.

Still, sigils are amazing for special effects. Also, foods! Orrian Truffle and Meat Stew (+40% endurance regeneration, gain might on dodge) is really quite good with Relic of Rivers (gain alacrity and regen on dodge), for example, if you want to spam dodges more.

Ah, the Deadeye is a deep class with too many tricks to write about, but it should be obvious that I am loving this expac. 😋😆

I’ve been bringing null field on my mesmer for this exact reason, bonus points for being an ethereal field so it doubles as a means to slap on even more damage.

For builds with lots of disables I go Sigil of Absorption. Spear Warrior has two built in with 3 and 5. 1 more with headbutt.

Another option: use condi builds. Protection only reduces STRIKE damage, Resolution is the one which reduces CONDI.

Some condi types (Burning and Torment) have really quick ramp-up time and doesn't feel any different from a Power build.

End of Dragons showed me how important boon-stripping is and ever since its become a priority in my open world builds

Yay sounds like someone else figured out a slappy boon strip is useful lately. I started carrying one on my loadout in SOTO cuz there were critters that would boonsteal and thus need the debuff.

Another thing that's useful when fighting the Rot Titanspawn is a cleanse or two. I definitely recommend having one somewhere in your build, whether it be weapon, aux, traits, or sigils.

I'm running a soulbeast with hammer and longbow - both weapons have the nullifcation sigil and it helps a lot.

I can't be the only when hearing it, saying wtf is a "Prot" ? 😅 . Hear that in WoW videos as well, assume it as something to do with a magical weapon spell, any who forgot how neat Guild Wars 2 was, not restricting weapon use, but encouraging it . Think maybe the first mmorpg to do that 🤔
