McMillan 1900s Tobacco Cutter Restoration

Hello and welcome folks.
Today I'm restoring this 1900s McMillan Tobacco Cutter.
I found this item in the back of an Antique store.

This was a quick and fun project to do. I ran out of time to produce a lengthy one as I recently purchased a new toy, a Sculpfun S9
I am in no way any expert on laser cutting but it came in handy to cut out the small piece of timber needed for this project.

I apologise for the audio quality in this video as there has been road construction in my area and my microphone picked up on all the vibration and out side noise.

If you would like to help support my channel you can always select the Give thanks button under the video and make a small donation.
Any donation would be greatly appreciated as I am still only a small channel.
This will help to cover some of the costs of supplies and finding new fun project to restore.

If your reading this please watch some of my other projects and leave a comment.
Receiving comments is one of the best things about restoration work, it makes it all worth while.

What a beautiful item, I really like the design.
I always really appreciate that you keep all the original pieces, even if for a moment I was afraid you'd throw away the base.
Great job as always, neat and clean.

That tobacco cutter turned out beautiful and it makes a great carrot slicer😂 I'm glad you were able to save the original wood base. Most of the time here in the states the wood is either gone or to far beyond repair that it needs to be replaced. Nice job

That's exactly what you need when you want to smoke some plug tobacco in your pipe, and want to make your life a bit easier with cutting the plug.
Well done, very nice device.

Nice restoration! I subscribe to a lot of restoration channels, and I love it when somebody restores an unusual item. You can only watch so many people restore a vice. I love the fact that you restored the base, so many people would have just replaced it. I definitely subscribed.

Another masterpiece. What's that new laser thingy that u got there? It looks very fancy. The clever using the oxide with the filler to make it conductive. Sure the wife will enjoy the new carrot slicer 😁.👏👏👏
