It was released as a 78 single on Savoy Records, 731-A, in 1950.The single went to number one on the R&B chart.The single was the debut single for Esther Phillips, who at the time of "Double Crossing Blues" release was fourteen years old, becoming the youngest female singer to have a number-one single on the R&B chart. i remembers this song we were the same age when it came out i didn't understands the words and she was so young but good voice singing the blues

Mind you Esther was only 14 yrs old at time. Her & Monica are the youngest female artists to ever hit #1 on Billboard's R&B charts.

Bobby Nunn singing the counter vocals.  The Robins worked with Otis till they had a falling out.  (black slang back then for "aggressive" women was "Lady Bear")
