**looks at imaginary camera when diabolik lovers pops up** this game had such a grip on me after watching the terrible anime years ago, i was so desperate to play the game i got my brother to buy the game for me on psvita (or it was psp i dont remember) and i literally used a tumblr translation to play the game😭😭 now when i look back the first games were kinda poop in pacing. They basically just had day to day interactions in like 10 mini chapters...you get to pick something and then it moves onto another section. The plot was non existent but anything for my precious laito and shu. If you ever play it again and don't wanna be harassed play shu's route or subaru even though he has anger issues

Craziest thing i was like 12 when i played and watched DL and i don't rmr anything about it. It must be the trauma. I'll still defend it with quarter of my life tho because the VAs had drama cds and i still like those

Omggg I couldn’t have agreed more with your tier list. My recipe for a really good otome game is literally Spicy, tragic romantic otome games 😭✋🏽✋🏽. All of the games that you placed in eternal love are true bangers ✌🏽. Also, thanks for speaking facts about Diabolik Lovers. Honestly it’s just straight up abuse and it made me uncomfortable playing it too. I can get the appeal though cuz the guys are hot and they get soft afterwards so I guess people like that. The way she was treated and just how dumb the MC is drew me away. She needs some self agency but if she did I guess it wouldn’t be a S&M game?? though I think you could have a strong female lead who is a masochist so not impossible and far more interesting. MCs in games are a whole separate conversation though lol. My favorite by far is Olympia, she’s so true to who she is and I know she wasn’t afraid to speak her mind at times which I loved. But anyway, I shall take your recommendations with heart because I was on the fence on buying jakou no lyla because please said it wasn’t good but if it has those eternal love vibes then heck yeah I’m going to buy it. It's fun to see different view and taste from yourselves and although TaishoxAlice is one of my eternal love with Hakuoki. Cinderella route was the least interesting, thankfully I play the Red riding hood first and it becomes my favourite route. Still I'm still wondering if I like spicy games or not and still playing CupiPara to finds out.

Okay but in Chouchou Jiken’s defense if you get to Sydney’s route, he was actually my fav because his route is so wild lol. And then the final route was so funny because the guy legit goes “I started WW2 for you.” I died 😂 My taste runs more so bad it’s good so I think it’s true love for me lol plus they had two of my fav voice actors - Murase Ayumu (Jemiru from Jakou no Lyla) and Suwabe (Rindo from Cafe Enchante) and there was a save line feature so you could replay your favorite lines whenever you want ❤️❤️❤️

I think eternal loves for me…. Kyoukai no Shirayuki and Koshotengai no Hashihime. They’re both dark and spicy so I recommend them! Although Koshotengai is a bl… so it might not have enough romance… Also the true end was very wtf… Maybe just Kyoukai no Shirayuki 😅 The art is my fav and the MC is such a cutie!! I was also legit scared for her in a few of the routes lol

As a fan of diabolik lovers I'm not at all surprised its at the bottom tier lol. The first game really was disturbing and only made for people who enjoyed being treated badly. But as the series go forward, the second to fourth games really shows compelling stories and character growth for both the main girl and the boys. And the arts are fantastic.
Hakuoki is easily one of my favourite otome game, I cant imagine how confused would a person be if the didnt play the original and just play the ssl.

I really loved Yoshiwara Higanbana. I honestly could not get this game out of my head. I also loved the usage of symbolism in the game. It’s a masterpiece.

Haven't played Collar yet either -backlog cries-
I've only played episode 1 of Taisho and yeah.... it didn't really hook me so I never continued, I've heard that it gets really good in later episodes so it's in my backlog (like every other game that has ever existed apparently 😂✨)
And omg the editing is sooo good, makes the video even funnier 😂💖

Oh how i wish Hanayaka Nari was localised. But since its already over 10 years old i guess i can give up my hope.... I need more older men representation in my Otome games! There are enough high school otome games out there. But maybe i can take that as a reason to take my japanese study more seriously... x_x

When you said you didn't like nice guys I swear I made the "🧐" face because I am a sucker for nice guys 🗿Also, regarding DiaLovers, I WILL NOT SHUT UP ABOUT HOW BAD IT IS ☹️☹ (no offense) ️ I was so hyped for it, but all I ended up was traumatized fr 😭 i feel so bad for yui, like, all she probably wanted was to go to the place her father wanted her to go to and live a nice and peaceful life ☹️ The visuals/art was pretty, but almost everything else was horrible... It was poorly written, and every character in the damn game and esp the LIs only succeded in making me mad as hell. (I, personality, think consent is hot 🤕)
Lastly, and unrelated, but who's your favorite otome heroine/s and which one/s do you dislike the most? The question came to mind when I wrote Yui's name because I just remembered the amount of antis she has... But I'm genuinely curious, soooo yk 🧐🧐
