We spent a little time with Jason Julian in the woods where he is getting ready to start an Ash extraction job. He wanted to give a couple of his young American Brabant draft horses some experience skidding logs. The bay horse, Asterix, is a three-year-old stallion imported from Germany and the blue roan horse, Kitty, is a four-year-old daughter of one of Jason's mares, Eve, and his highly successful stallion, Conan. Kitty is due in April with a foal sired by Asterix. Both horses performed like seasoned veterans.

The audio and commentary are greatly appreciated. I know it's extra production work but definitely worth while. The ponies were so happy to be working.

Horses of that caliber and disposition work well without blinders, as one sees. In fact, I believe and have experienced, they will be a lot more dependable in the long run.
