The Best Miter Saw Blade For Woodworking EP. 003

There is only 1 miter saw blade that a woodworker should use and it may not be the one you have.

This video is part of a series called 2 Minute Tuesday where we cover one woodworking topic per week in under 2 minutes. This week I detail the best miter saw blade for woodworking. The miter saw is one of the first tools you purchase when starting out woodworking and the last thing you think about is replacing the blade. But, for 99% of woodworkers the blade that comes on the miter saw is not what you want to use for fine woodworking projects or crosscutting. I explain the teeth configuration you want to look for which is alternating top bevel for the cleanest cuts. Also, I explain my experience when buying different brands of saw blades like Dewalt, Harbor Freight, and Freud. The cost of the blade doesn't impact performance but it does correlate to the longevity of the saw blade.

First thing I do when I buy a new saw is buy a brand new blade to go with it.

Diablo or Spyder blades are cheap and perform decent or if you like the finer things in life a CMT Orange…

No matter what, always replace the factory shipped blades. You will not regret it.

It's hard to upvote this when your title says you're going to recommend the best blade and instead you essentially just said "pay more and you will get a better blade."

A useless video. Buy a variety of blades and test each blade in the same wood and in the same manner, compare the results and post the outcome.
