A research gap is an unanswered question or unresolved problem in a problem

It can also exist when there is already a fair deal of existing research but the finding of the research houls in different directions

There are 4 types of research gaps
1 classic literature gap
2 disagreement gap
3 contextual gap
4 methodological gap

Classical gap is a that emerges when there is a new research of phenomenon that hasn't been researched much at all

It can present new research opportunities

Disagreement gap
Emerges when there is contradiction in a research

There must be a balance inside the research for it to call it a Disagreement gap

Contextual gap happens when there is already an existing research on a topic but not an absence in a specific context like population, gender, geography, time periods etc

There must be a possible reason to expect potential differences in the specific context u choose

Methodological gap
It emerges in the method or the design on the research

To find a research gap
U must find literature reviews, systematic reviews metaanalysis covering your area of interest

There are sites that can help you with finding these gaps

Focus on titles that states further research is needed u can also look at the limitation section on the studies

Make sure to look at recent articles
