New Hiker Trailer LITE is Most Affordable Yet!

preview_player
Показать описание
The Lite version of the Hiker Trailer is aimed at those on a budget! This traditional 765lb small camper trailer may be affordable, but the components are not. Hiker swapped out their traditional powder coated steel frame for a lightweight aluminum chassis. They traded out leaf springs for higher clearance torsion axles. This trailer like the other Hiker trailers comes with a passthrough galley, wood interior, and a nice bed for two people. This is the perfect little camping trailer for couples, solo travelers, or travelers with dogs. And at this price, you will still have a budget leftover for all those add-on components.

FINALLY!! A small/light camper that’s actually affordable (and customizable) that doesn’t start at $20k and go north of $70k. I’m interested!

One of the long term teardrop company survivors - well deserved. The Hiker group-sharing mentality is impressive indeed. These are good business people.

I keep returning to watch this. I love the simplicity of this Hiker Trailer. At first I thought 4’ wide was too narrow but you can sleep close to the wall unlike a bed where you’d fall out. I’ve slept on a 20” foam pad while backpacking. I like that it doesn’t take much room in a garage. It’s very nice but would want two doors and a roof rack.

Interesting concepts of both trailers. Functional, easy to handle, nice price. Not all these absurd unusable gadgets they make trailers more and more expensive.
And there are several options for customizing.
I like it.

TY for providing the base option with the ability for future expansion.

this thing with 300w solar up top somehow would make this thing even better.. any camper or trailer I buy has to be wired for it or have it already ideally.. saves so much time effort and money for me.

I could not build one for that price. Definitely a great product!

This is a very budget friendly trailer, if you keep it budget friendly. in all honestly 4, 999 entry, you could load it down with dollar store products, walmart air or foam mattresses, or heck, a Futon Japanese floor matress, that you can roll up then have the entire floor useful during the day if you need it.

Hmm, Futon, small Kotatsu, and an inexpensive tatami chair or 2.. and it becomes a home away from home.. then add in a cheep little single burner stove for cooking and you are good to go on a budget adventure. umm drew, look up the following "Costway 6-Position Adjustable Floor Chair " and think of putting a pair of those in there for day time use. with the Kotatsu between them.

At 8:20 you mentioned that you can now pretty much predict the failure points on a teardrop based on its age. Are you going to do a special on that? I'm early stages of a foamie build and would love to know what to look out for or where to reinforce the design or avoid certain features.

They should do a customization contest with the winner getting a chance to contribute and design some special trailers

Seeing the inside would have been cool

Electric brakes should be mandatory. Love them.
(Brake controller cab installed vs trailer mounted vs portable.)

In general, I go for practicality over looks, but an exception is I like teardrops vs squaredrops. (having used neither)

For that price I could buy two one for the adults and one for the kids and pull doubles. 😂😂😂😂
This definitely a great entry level trailer for one to two people.
I like the back to the roots approach, a place to store and haul camping gear and ready made bed/tent once your destination is reached.

Thanks for the video. I might have to buy one next spring.

I want one of these that I can stand up inside (or at least really close, because i'm 6'1" without shoes off). I just want it simple, ultra light, but taller 😢. 5x8x6.5 tall would be MAGICAL
