The tulum played in Turkey is played in areas that are populated mainly by nonTurks such as Armenians, Lazes, Georgians, and some Greeks in the black sea coast. These areas include Rize, Artvin, and Trabzon that have less of a Turkish population compared to the rest of Turkey.

FUN FACT:
"TURKISH" TULUM has nothing to do with Turks but rather the people of the easter regions of Turkey, ie. Hamshen Armenians, Laz, Pontic Greeks, etc.

Hello, nice video, but the man that starts playing around 1:45 is not playing a kaba gaida, thats a macedonian gaida(difference is in the pitch-kaba gaida is typically in E and the macedonian gaida in A or B flat.)

I learned some time before gayda and bagpipes have similarities but different sound. So from I come from we call Gayda to bagpipes which is wrong. Maybe you can work in a presentation about it, don’t you? Cheers from MX

The part of the video that starts from 1:43, contains not bulgarian kaba gaida. This bagpipe called macedonian gaida.

Literally besides religion and language, the entire Black Sea region is culturally similar

The tulum is NOT Turkish. Yes, it was played in Turkey but by non Turkish/ Turkic peoples. Pontic Greeks and Caucasian peoples, like Laz, used to play tulum. The "Turks" who play tulum nowadays are descendants of Greeks and Laz. The tulum has nothing to do with the Turko-Persian culture of Turkey.
