I'm brazilian, and I must say that since the interview this girl passed trough a lot of hate. She is a popular youtuber/journalist here in Brazil, and she opened recently about what happend, and the amount of hate that she received (even now, btw) brought inumerous consequences to her career and mental health. She talked about how disrespected she felt during the interview, but she dind't said anything because, well, it was Vin Diesel there. But also, she considered him very unprofessional as well because, at that time, that was a great oportunity for her, and this man just decided to messed up with everything by saying those things. I always felt very sad for her, but I also laughed a lot watching this video, because, after all, this is straight no sense.

Honestly she really held it together. Sorry that she had to go through this. Probably so uncomfortable for her. She’s doing that uncomfortable laugh. And then tries to move the conversation and he still keeps going. So uncomfortable on so many levels.

I’ve seen this interview before, but it never fails to make me furious. This woman was just trying to do her job: she *did not* ask to be sexually harassed. Which is what this is. There was nothing endearing about Vin Diesel here. And the fact that she got so violently victim blamed afterwards just proves that we have a long way to go towards equality.

Edited to add that I wish people would understand that if a woman laughs along or tries to play the problematic behaviour down, it’s because she’s uncomfortable, or even afraid. She’s not enjoying the attention. She’s not flattered. She’s just trying to get out of the situation as safely as possible.
