2019 02 23 Merced National Wildlife Refuge snow geese

Merced National Wildlife Refuge snow geese were very active flying on 2/23/2019.

Lost opportunities to take vide or photos at closer as went to find great horned owls after waiting for more than 30 minutes in the parking lot. Thinking they may fly later in the afternoon. But, big groups flew after walked away for about 10 minutes.

2 great horned owls at the entrance, not find any great horned owls at the end of the hiking trail at the 2nd parking lot.

Arrived the entrance about 9:00am and found some snow geese and sandhill cranes about 0.1 miles from the 2nd parking lot.

Watched many times of snow geese flying at distance before heading out about 1:30pm to explore Merced and Turlock blossom.

Back to entrance again about 5:30pm and arrived 2nd parking lot about 5:45am. Watching 2-3 more times of flying in possible thousands of snow geese.

May go back tomorrow late afternoon after Fresno Blossom Trail/Festival.
