The Kuala Lumpur International Airport (KLIA) aerotrain is expected to resume operations by the second quarter of this year, according to Malaysia Airports Holdings Berhad.

During a media briefing at Terminal 1 in Sepang on Friday (Jan 24), managing director Datuk Mohd Izani Ghani stated that the aerotrain service would begin once comprehensive testing, overseen by the Land Public Transport Agency (Apad), is completed.

He also highlighted improvements in the new trains, which will feature three coaches per set and accommodate up to 270 passengers per trip, an increase from the previous capacity of 230.

Looking at the speed project are undertaken in Malaysia, I suggest to start NOW for the replacement of this new train. Maybe, just maybe, it would catch up right before total breakdown in 10-15 years. In the meantime, can MAHB disclose how much money did they spent for the replacement buses fuel, maintenance, 24/7 operating drivers salary ????
Yet they all come with a smile and congratulate themselves...

Malaysia is great at creating and innovating but when it comes to maintenance. Wah. Koyak. KLIA opened in 1998, Changi in 1980s-92. Still Changi looks new.

Looking at the news in Q1 last year, the original completion date was reported to be around April. Then in around Q3, someone advised the minister that it could be ready by the end of Jan, and so the minister announced that date. In the latest press briefing regarding this matter, one could see the minister’s displeasure in announcing that it would only be completed in April and not in January. He went on to say that he was very unhappy about the situation he was put in, as he was expected to be the spokesman for ALL things transport related even though the airport company is not under MoT.

Testing till April?!! And that’s his answer why January were given? This is such an embarrassment. Seriously just resign la. An even now cannot give an exact date of operational. The government should fined MAHB for the delay.

Dia bukan peduli pun sbb itu aerotrain tergendala bertahun tahun. Bila ada masalah tidur buat tak tahu sampai kerajaan campurtangan. Dia hanya peduli cukup bulan ambil gaji. Langsung tak competen.

Get it ready latest in March 2025. Can't delay especially with more arrivals/tourists.

This sounds like a more complicated and time consuming project than the chinese's rocket launch to the space station 😅!

Since best service and making more profit, then why MAHB so desperately want to sell MAHB share to black rock? rakyat very curious?
