I always thought of Neanderthal as a different race of human rather than a dufferent species. We have white people. We have black people. We have Asians of different ethnicities. We have American Indians and Inuits. We have Pacific Islanders. Why not Neanderthals? All can intermarry and produce children. Using the long existence model where humans have existed for millions of years, and white people coexisted in what became Europe with Neanderthals, consider the possibility that the Neanderthal race was absorbed into the European population as they could intermarry and produce children who became our European ancestors.
