What I'm trying to do is *sort by newest first* but make that the default setting. Whenever I watch a YouTube video, I don't care what the top comments are; newest first for me … ALWAYS.

Am I the only person suddenly seeing not only their own, but everybody else's goofy new 'handle' instead of their carefully created channel name coming up in comment sections? And if not, then am I the only one who finds these imposed and totally unrequested new 'handles' entirely unnecessary and annoying? I'd like my original channel name to appear not my truncated 'handle' as it makes no sense anymore and is certainly NOT anymore memorable or catchy. Same for everybody else. I recognise nobody now and other people's channel names are entirely forgotten right after I've seen them. Channel names are much better, they have wit and individual charm. Slowly the personalities disappear in life in seemingly trivial, incremental ways. I hear no grumbles anywhere about this so I guess it must just be me. People get bored in their parochial, self-referential, insular realities in the world of tech and they over process everything, moving too fast and doing what they want whether we want it or not. Which bored nitwit came up with the ridiculous idea of 'handles' taking the place of basic channel names?!
