I would like to express my opinion on the first two Sonic movies… but I was planning to make a video on the films, so it’ll have to wait. (When it’ll come out… I don’t know).

One thing I do like with the movie version of Knuckles is that the movie actually does remember that Knuckles actually has superspeed in the games which is something that's usually overlooked in most Sonic media because they mainly focus on his strength so it's quite nice that the movie remembered that Knuckles does have superspeed

I actually heard before Idris Elba was cast as Knuckles Jason Momoa was actually considered for the role

One thing I do find questioning about Knuckles in the movie is this they stated he's the last echidna like in the games which is always something I never liked but with the movie they pretty much imply that long claw was able to kill the entire tribe before dying herself which doesn't really make sense I personally would have preferred if they just said Knuckles is the last of his tribe not so much the last of this species because it doesn't make sense for the entire echidna race to be part of one tribe

I also found out that before Ben Schwartz was cast as Sonic the director of the movie originally wanted Tom Holland to voice Sonic but he was unavailable at the time and I'm glad they went with Ben Schwartz because unlike Rodger Craig Smith Schwartz actually does make Sonic sound like a teenager like he's supposed to be

Just as long as Ken Penders Isn't Involved to still sue the movie company by the time either Movie 3 or even that spin-off series of Movie Knuckles Is made; cause we all know you can't write The Echidnas his way and his way only or those who still suppose him will get automatically sue without his consultation when the man himself basely did anything with his pathetic life outside of destroying everything Archie Comics has done without him (only to weasel his way to destroy It all) or anyone who tries to do their own attempt of a newfound adaption has to ruin It all.

I noticed Idris Elba gives Knuckles a slight Caribbean accent in the movie I wonder if this was a reference to how originally Knuckles was intended to be a Jamaican stereotype hence why they made his shoes the same colour is the Jamaican flag and why his quills were designed to look like dreadlocks

I actually found out that before Jim Carrey was cast as Robotnik there were a lot of actors who tried out for the role these included the likes of Patrick Stewart Kevin Spacey and even Danny DeVito tried out for the role of Robotnik

16:24 I'm actually hoping we may get a flashback showing Gerald Robotnik and Maria maybe even saying that after they both died that's why Robotnik ended up going in the direction he went in the movie with his hatred of humanity

You’re preaching to the choir on the cynical nature of the series around that time. Until Frontiers, I was convinced the Meta Era was the state of the franchise and I’d just have to deal with it which made the movies more tolerable by comparison imo. I had more problems with the 1st one than the 2nd one (including Jim Carry’s Robotnik not really feeling like the character and just generic goofy mad scientist and Sonic shaming Tom about moving away from his home to improve his life and career which is “anti-Sonic” even if this is supposed to be an AU of sorts) but most of that was improved so I’m not as sore about it now. Probably my biggest complaint about the sequel besides from the filler part with Maddie and her sister was the way they portrayed Tails basically making him a stalker more than little brother (ie watching him take a bath) and no explanation as to why he even came to Earth in the first place or got a Warp Ring. That and the fact that he had the least amount of screentime compared to Sonic and Knux to the point where he was knocked out for a good chunk of the movie (which is probably why the movie was called Sonic vs Knuckles in Japan lol). Also, it’s interesting how both Mario and Sonic’s Hollywood movies are basically reimaginings of previous TV shows (Super Mario Bros Super Show and Sonic X respectively) in their concept. Also to this day, Sonic 1 is the last movie I’ve seen in theaters since it was right before the pandemic and my local theater I saw it closed down and hasn’t opened to this day.

7:50 someone really needs to edit the movie version of Sonic on the Sonic wiki listing Longclaw as his former adoptive mother and having Tom and Maddie listed as his adoptive parents since they technically are his adoptive parents
