There’s a middle ground, we build specs and the money I save is more money that we make. What’s the point of paying a tile guy $25 - $30 sq ft when I have a guy that does an even better job for $10 - $12 sq ft
I have a concrete buddy that was wanting to bid my jobs but he’s charging almost $4 sq ft labor for flat work 🤣 why the hell would I pay that when I have another company that’s fast and does one of the best jobs out of any concrete sub I’ve used and he only charges $1.50 sq ft. People are crazy with the pricing they are trying to charge now days. The notion of the statement you get what you pay for is simply not true, I pay cheap to fair prices and get phenomenal work, and mind you these are high end multi million dollar specs we build.
