Sunbathing?' But as he kept walking, he saw another one, then another. That’s when it hit him these birds had turned his sunflower field into their personal nap zone!

The funniest part? One bird was so deep in dreamland, it didn’t even flinch when he poked it. Only when he gently grabbed it did it finally wake up and take off, probably thinking, 'Hey, I was sleeping here!' Turns out, sunflowers might just be the ultimate nap spots for birds.

This video is shot in Europe and possibly England. That first bird dozing is the European goldfinch. As another sharp commenter noted the birds were feasting on the sunflower seeds which had fermented because it was well into fall. The fermented seeds made the birds a bit drunk and they couldn't fly so they are sleeping off they feasting. Course when prodded one did rise to the occasion and fly off.

You can see these sunflowers are old and starting to decay. The seeds are fermenting and the birds are literally getting drunk!
Look at the color of the stalk and plant, these are old sunflowers that have been wet by rain many times, hence the dark coloration.
No normal bird will sleep that soundly. They will wake up at the slightest sound! And they won’t be laying on their back either!
