How cute, your son is mesmerized by the plant and your voice! Love all five! I noticed your vent is on the floor. I too have them on the floors and most are right by the window where I would like to keep my plants but have not thinking the hot or cool air blowing might dry them out. Yours looks so good, I think I will try it.

I love the variegated hoya heuschkeliana, but was put off by the price and so many people said it was difficult. So, I got a regular green version instead. It's adorable. It put out so many new leaves since I got it last year, and this week it's blooming, even though it's still tiny.

Some of my other non-variegated favorites are my miniature African Violet, philodendron micans, hoya carnosa, and fern leaf cactus.

You’re not lazy! You’re a mum and have different priorities. Plus the spiders eat the bad bugs sometimes so I let them and praying mantis hang around to help 😉.
Absolutely love your green plants. I love my ZZs and silver sword. I wish I had the syngonium and the burle Marx fantasy - so pretty but harder to find in Australia. I also would add basically all dark velvety leaved plants that don’t have strong vein contrasts - p. glorious, p melano, anthuriums etc

I enjoyed watching this video and learnt to appreciate non varigated plants. I have an arrowhead syngonium which was varigated at first, when someone gifted it to me . It was on a moss pole. It was just gorgeous. After several yrs. it started to loose its varigations, I tried my best to get it back to its original look, but to no avail. I tried everything....more light, less light etc. Now it lies near a water source in the garden, it has matured a lot, but no varigation. After looking at your video I decided to repot it as is. I guess it will make a handsome addition to my house plant collection after grooming etc
My daughter bought me a Pothos Emjoy to replace my fixation for varigations, it's doing well . I am not taking chances for this one.I keep watching for signs if ex.green and then change its position for sunlight or pinch off those leaves.

I totally agree with the ZZ! I have quite a few ZZs and they never let me down. I also love macrophyllum and Chiapense too. One of my other favorite non-variegated is jade satin scindapsus. It has huge, dark matte leaves that are so intriguing!

Is it possible that your pep incana is not getting enough water?

I love my Syngonium chiapense with those deep green matte leaves. Other current favorites are my philodendron red Congo and majestic-huge dramatic leaves on both of them, and a beautiful burgundy red. I would love to try the Peperomia incana someday. I haven't seen it in any of our local nurseries yet.

Hm, favorite hoya right now is the hoya chinghungensis. It is so cute, and small. Also my green air plants, and boobie cactus.

Completely normal for oldest stems on most plants to die out.
