Nobody thought Chelsea were close to city after that first transfer window… guy on the right pure waffle from minute one

at 20:00 + minutes, totally agree. He's not de-bruyne, or Salah. His contract at 350k a week, he does not produce to their level.

Glad clubs are ironing out bad contracts, they once wrote.

He was lucky Chelsea picked him up when they did, a spontaneous signing. He doesn't play to help the team, last season.

Oli Kay is painful to listen to, he says a sentence then just makes noises until he thinks of something else.

This Oli guy is a pain to listen to…he’s so unstructured

I think Chelsea's inability to create a healthy and balanced enviroment for young players to develop will be a massive problem. Having many young players isn't a problem... look at Madrid. However in Madrid, those young players are slowly integrated both into games and about the culture of the team. The players learn to be consistent and gain that Madrid never die attitude (Vinicius x Rodrygo development). Constantly changing managers, changing players, staff and a poor performing Chelsea is the worst place for players to develop (Mudryk is still at the same level).

Oli fumbling over his words going on about “sterling’s pr team’s statement” was hilarious

I'm not going to pretend like Sterling is this world class player but Maresca please don't insult the intelligence of people. There is no way after watching some of the dross from Mudryk does he get into the team ahead of Sterling. 😂😂😂.

Chelsea were far better than City for huge stretches of the game, which makes sense since City weren’t close to 100% by missing crucial players. But Chelsea lacked quality finishing, Jackson was abhorrent again, his mentals are terrible, and it was abundantly clear last season as well as this preseason that Sanchez absolutely cannot play out from the back (sweeper keeper) and he was directly at fault for that 2nd goal yesterday (terrible ball to Fofana under pressure, then terrible positioning once Fofana’s hurried pass was intercepted). Chelsea are a couple tweaks away from being very solid (Enzo needs to come out of the XI, offers nothing and Palmer or Nkunku needs to be in the center of the park with Neto likely taking a place on the wing). If Chelsea can get Lukaku loaned out and Athleti finally pay us for Gallagher then Osimhen’s transfer fee and wages are affordable and the upgrade from Jackson to his clinical finishing is going to make Chelsea frighteningly lethal. Really good signs yesterday

I agree that he could and probably should dig his heels in. But he also has to be prepared that when deadline passes and they release the 25 man squad, he mite not be on it then he's waiting 6 months

The whole style question goes away if we win. We played for years with a quite brutal style, but it was effective and we won. Lets just get to the Liverpool game and see where we are before we start booing.

Oli Kay was shocking - did he say anything correct?

Pochettino was the key to their success and the board just continues to fail to understand how football works. Consistency is key and swapping managers every season along with bringing 5-7 players each window is just not how football works. I'm a Spurs fan and its sad to see a club of that magnitude fall from grace due to poor management. It gives American owners a bad wrap apart from the Glazers and Kroenkes (although they have learned a bit more and have built around Arteta).

Erik ten Hag once said that Cristiano Ronaldo was one of Manchester United’s most important players.

How on earth does Oli Kay not understand its not okay for a player to put out a statement just before kick-off to have a moan in game 1 of the season about not being selected. Embarrasing - the guy could barely speak

Everyone is blowing this squad size thing out of proportion, the window is still open, make your judgment in September.
