Loki has the best character arc in the MCU and one of the greatest character arcs of all time. He started the show as a god who wanted to rule everyone and everything in the universe for selfish reasons, to a god who selflessly watches over and protects the MULTIVERSE, in isolation, from a throne outside of time and space.

Mobius told him that he needed to choose which burden he could live with to fulfill his purpose, and as heavy as it was, this was the only choice in which all of his friends and family as well as all of the people of the multiverse would be saved. He is a true hero now. My heart absolutely breaks that this Loki is now and possibly always will be alone, but at least he can watch over everyone he cares for from afar.
