Great review Pete. I've listened to it twice now and it just keeps getting better.

Love, Love Love this album! I have a bit of a weakness for concept albums and this one is very well done. The musicianship is unbelievably good, and the vocals are whimsical and very enjoyable. Mr Bogd is unquestionably one of my favorite Prog records of the year.

"Bogd". In Swedish you pronounce even the G and after even the D and the O it´s pronounced like the English word ODD.
Cheers from the Cover artist of this Album. ❤

Yay - a "ton of reviews" day! I was wondering if this was the same band. I had no idea that they were still around. I didn't know about their 2007 album either, though. I'll have to check this out. Thanks, Pete! I'm glad you're feeling better.

I just heard this yesterday. I need more spins to soak it all in, like it, but wasn't ready for what I heard either. This has been getting lots of praise in the Prog community!

Lots to catch up on, Pete, including to listening to this album in its entirety. Like the excerpts heard; they played to some of personal music taste, including the incorporation of "folk" music. Thanks for including this in the weekly new product episode onslaught today. Will be giving it the full listen over the coming weekend.

Could be worth mentioning that Patrik Lundström also sings on the Kaipa albums.

Gotta make up for my absences and try to check all the reviews today.
Very nice release. Favorite tracks so far:
'A hasty departure', 'The Inn of the Haunted Owl', 'Chichikov Bogd', 'Read all about it', 'The Three Heads'.

this one actually give me big a folkier Dream Theater Astonishing vibe. Sorry to bring it up but it just reminds me of James L singing the female parts of the astonishing.

Good band - I've got their s/t debut, Superb Birth, Think Like A Mountain, Live & The Hemulic Voluntary Band. For me the debut & Mountain are their two best (so far). I don't have this one (yet) but sounds promising!

Some other recent new stuff:

Argos/Halfway Between Heaven And Mirth - solid prog
Keys/The Grand Seduction - ditto
Grace Bowers & The Hodge Podge/Wine On Venus - good band, funky. Just played on Jimmy Kimmel
King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard/Flight B741 - this band keeps cranking out material. As unpredictable as usual
Sparkle*Jets U.K./Box Of Letters - nice new power pop
Buzzard Buzzard Buzzard/Skinwalker - just OK power pop, they've got better albums
Devon Allman/Miami Moon - a bit of a letdown for me, I was expecting more blues/rock
Bywater Call/Shepherd - this is what I thought Allman's new album might sound like...

What I'm trying to figure out is, if you actually listened to this album, & it seems like you did, why can you not pronounce any of the names or titles when they were all said & pronounced throughout the album within the lyrical content? Sorry, this just makes absolutely no sense to me.
