i visited nara back in 2017, i stayed the night over as my trip allowed me too. i sat near the deer park at like 8pm at night, enjoying some nice icecream while patting deer that were wandering around at night. so cute

Reminds me of my journey to Japan in 2017. We have been on a small side trip to Nara, we haven't seen everything on the list, but it was a really nice place. Todaiji Temple and the deer made it a really unique and unforgettable experience.

Todaiji temple in Nara is the most beautiful/impressive temple in Japan. It depends on your itinerary if you can include it. Kyoto in itself has a lot to see.

Although it is a little far from Nara City, I recommend visiting Horyuji Temple as well.

I really need to return to visit Isuien. I really loved Japanese gardens. Last we visited Nara a lovely man from the Nara Guide Club showed us around which was fantastic. Watching the mochi pounding was also a highlight as was making origami deer 🦌 at the Information centre ℹ️. A great place to visit.
