Julian Nagelsmann was furious with the decision not to award Germany a penalty in extra time for what looked a clear handball by Spain defender Marc Cucurella.

Referee Anthony Taylor was SPOT ON to not award Germany a penalty in relation to UEFA's handball guidelines... Cucurella's arm is down, vertical and not judged to be making his body unnaturally bigger. Either way the rules are so unclear 😤

I, as a Dane, got angry with this decision!! In the Germany-Denmark game the situation wasn’t even as clear as this one, but Germany still got a penalty. So this should clearly have been a penalty as well, otherwise there’s absolutely no consistency in how the refs work!

All of Europe and the world getting shown what English refereeing is like. That he wasn’t brought to the screen was outrageous.

Anthony Taylor is referee version of Mister Bean in real life.

Italian here, I have never supported Germany, and never I will. BUT that was a clear penalty and to not ask the referee to at the very least review it, it is shocking.

That was a penalty, the referee is not at all fit to officiate such a high quality game, certain refs should officiate certain games, congratulations to Spain what a team?

It was clear handball based on recent handball judgement...

Even player slide for blocking ball hitted by shoted ball called handball... in recent major tournaments...

Disgraced... Nobody Nobody in Even Spain would argue if he called handball, now whole world argue he did not called handball... clear....

I also think apart from the handball that when fullkrug was pulled down and narrowly missed a shot in the box that that should have been a penalty, the spanish defender had a hand on his shirt and thereby pulled him down

Are we just going to ignore the fact that Cucurella had TWO handball plays in the match?

The same "strange" thing happened in Europa League Final against AS. Rom (no penalty was given). Same Referee...

100 percent hand ball penalty for Germany!! I mean they call a handball vs denmark and this was clear cut and no penalty! Total bs!! You think euro refs are bad just come and watch copa america The refs are brutal there! 😂😉

Total hand ball, Musiala would have scored if it did not hit his arm. Ref made the game about himself with the yellow card count. Absolutely brutal.

Not only this clueless pl ref ended Germany's run but also Toni Kroos' footballing career! Disgraceful!

those saying it was not a penalty is complete nonsense and so was Taylor's decision to not give the penalty. Taylor in refusing the penalty clearly did so because he claimed by his words and body posture that Cucurella had his hands by his sides in a "natural position". But that ignores the context ie. what happened before his arm was by his sides where he blocked Musiala's shot which was going into the goal with the keeper beaten. Fact is, Cucurella had his arms out to his side, away from his body at about a 90 degree angle before the shot was taken. The shot is taken and then Cucurella moves his arm and hands downwards directly into the direction of the ball, then to try and fool the ref, Cucurella lets his arm go backwards and go limp. The fact is, it is hand to ball and a deliberate obstruction of the ball. It was 100% a penalty. Hand to ball whether up or down under the rules is a penalty if it is in the 18.

1 - Hand looks clear to me, it should have been penalty call, then reviewed by VAR
2 - Fullkrug is in offside 5 sec before the hand
3 - Possible hand from Fullkrug in the same action
4 - Another offside of a german player in the trajectory of the ball, behind Cucurella

It would have been better to call the var and see the replay, so there would have been les complains.... although just to clarify: (My opinion)

This was a penalty. It wasnt even up to the refs decision because the ball was shot on the goal and stopped by a spanish hand. Hell without his hand it may was a goal. So yea spain won but they didnt realy won

Kroos should have had six yellow cards

All clear to me.
To rule is up to interpretation, which leaves space for all kind of mumbo jumbo, especially corruption.
Shot directly at goal stopped by defender's arm very far from the body should be 100 % penalty.
It will happen again and we will compare footage and I assure you true fans will be fuming.
