From what I understand that price is only justifiable because no other company has a card out there with equivalent performance, once AMD comes out with a competing card prices should go down

In reality, pricing varies for the H100, depending on how many you want, and who you are. Some companies may pay 30K, some may pay 15K. Jensen knows how to milk a cow.

I personally go AMD, since I'm not interested in DLSS or RT. I'd much rather have less latency and real frames without artifacts, than ray tracing, which unless you go to pathtracing, looks like a fancier version of SSR with a 30% fps cost. Radeon seems like an easy way to save money.

first of all. It takes a lot of money to get the production cost low for something as complex as that. second of all, it is just an estimate and most likely isn't true considering how hard it is to maintain qualty and keeping costs low.
