“You need to get in a couple of long runs” - love the understated advice for training for 100 miles on foot 😂

I believe Anton is not that far off with his advice...even though he is one of the worlds best and he is giving advice for us mortals. I Have completed a 100 Miler plus 9000m+. My training was in fact not 'high mileage'...but certainly a 'few' long runs/walks. And as he says, the mental attitude accounts for probably at least 40% of completing a 100 Miler. I don't know why it is...but some humans like to push themselves further and further. So, in that spirit I have treated myself to a '60th Birthday present' and entered the Swiss Peaks Trail 360km and over 25000m +- :-)

Nice to see you got Anton to sit long enough for a good choice of questions... great work to both of you!

Tony's one of my earliest inspirations for ultra running and I'm glad to see he's still at it. I always get a big boost out of seeing him on the local trails.

Don't underestimate the 8th tip. Bike and C.C. Ski and swim miles are cardio too and avoid injuries.

Dude is a humble gifted athlete who doesn't prescribe industry norm advice. I can appreciate that. Wish I could have seen him win 100 after 100... maybe that's not his calling.

Awesome. I am doing my first 100 mile race (Swiss Alps) in August, so this is really helpful!

My most realistic advice is this....don't compare yourself or your style to someone else...a lot of people compare themselves to the genetically elite....you know yourself, could you put more attention and effort into training??
My running always improve when i pick up a paper and pencil and make a plan..map out your week, and follow thru!
Happy running to all!
