Our "allies" were draining us of money

Trump wasn't going to abandon Europe. He just wanted Europe to put on it's big boy pants and handle their own problems for a change.

I respect this guy but I also will never forget the vile disregard and hatred trump endured off eu leaders. They showed their true colours.

Working with allies or being used by allies ??

Ironically, and regardless of what the Western establishment thought, he did not get involved in crazy wars. He was more respected and did much more diplomatically in the non-Western world than this current lot. Look at North Korea and China. They all liked his bargaining business deal making style. Culturally, he fit in with the strong leaders of Asia and the Global South much more than weak politically correct focused leaders Europe and the West has today. That helped the US. He should have run for mayor of New York City first before becoming president. He needed political experience. He had faults. One of the big ones was terrible team building. He trusted people who stabbed him in the back instead of bringing people who helped get him elected like Bruce Bannon. So, instead of draining the swamp, he became a life guard in it without a whistle. He asked the right questions, and the US military industrial complex was too powerful. He could not even get out of Syria. They went over his head. The corrupt military industrial complex convinced Europeans that NATO is absolute. The establishment of the West was rubbed off the wrong way by his pertinent questions about policies in Washington. They all embarked on a media and lawfare campaign that continues to this day. But if you ask most people, Trump was a time of real peace compared to Biden. The lawfare hypocrisy has discredited the legal system when you look at Joe and Hunter Biden. Joe is knee-deep in corruption in Ukraine, personally. He can not stay out of it like Trump tried to. Trump was impeached over Ukraine for asking questions about Biden interferring over there. That is ironic, too. No one is allowed to ask legitimate questions over war mongering Neocon policies the unelected. bureaucratic, Washington deep state embarks in.

If America pulls out of Europe then why does Europe need to be America's ally?

He forced europe to pay their fair share into NATO. His approach was to say, im not carrying you anymore. Pull your weight.

His concern was not to be liked, but to be respected. And he was insofar that he was taken seriously when he woud tell other leaders what he woud do if they crossed the line. Russia never moved on Ukraine until Trump was out of office.

Trump probably concludes that if Western European countries aren’t prepared to pay for the defence and stability of their region why should the USA. It’s hard to argue with that logic. The sad thing is that better deterrence might have avoided all of this.

Whatever the strategy, Biden has irreversibly harmed our geopolitical standing.

The 911 happened how many allies came running to our rescue. How many allies sent volunteers over here to help dig out of the rubble

Jo does nothing and has not helped our allies at all.

Working with allies and figuring out who they are to begin with are two different things. The former is a liability if you can't do the latter.

Being good with allies means getting pushed around unlike stating what is factually correct which "friends"do not like to hear. The heavy dependence of America on Asia has already led to the re-ascend of China.

I agree. Biden being much better at working with allies isn't saying much; as Trump was atrocious at it. - That said, it became rather obvious to me, that Trumps main goal was to call in (what he saw) as favours, through foreign policy; while he attempted to wreck the national debt. - and on that score it seemed like he had takers willing to buy up chunks of US deficit.
Of course, this was reliant on Trump actually capable of steering internal policy towards local industry.

The disingenuous mob of liberal spruikers, found it easy claim he was an isolationist; not only because of "the wall" distraction. Also because they knew the average American is now used to not having options. ..lets just say.

What we learned in the past 2 years: there are friends you can trust, and those you can't trust. There are allies who will stand on your side and those who just use you.
To complicated for someone like Donald Trump.

On the topic of his "how we treat allies" complaint. We have basic defense spending requirements for our "allies" that they have to meet instead of dumping it all on the US taxpayers as they have for 75 years now. That's wrong, and calling them out on it is not treating an ally bad. Doing that to us is treating us bad
