Here is the info on how to access Free Play for the Hub Areas in the LEGO Marvel's Avengers video game.

I wish this were more immediately apparent to players when playing the game!

If anyones wondering you just have to finish the age of ultron storyline. I think i had the option of what storyline play, I was confuses lel.

No need to finish the story mode at all, just go to options, choose go to space and choose manhatten, once you find a vehicle select station you can then choose any character by holding down triangle or Y :)

Aw buddy me and my 5yo son cannot thank you enough. It was driving me insane trying to figure this out. I had a feeling it was to do with completing the story mode. But we came to this game from Lego Superheros 2 which is completely different. Amazing again buds thank you, have also like and subscribed 👏🏻👍🏻

You don't have to finish the story to play with your characters..just find a character station in manhattan ...they are marked as blue dots on your map..push circle and you will be able to choose cars and characters

Dont have to complete the game - just find one of those machines in New York and you will be able to open the menu

When you finish both avengers assemble and the last one you will have the option to go to New York and other hub areas

When I have access to stark tower after u played go back there and take elevator down to go into ny city. You don't have to finish the game first just past that part.

It's basically the same thing with lego marvel superheroes 1 tho you just need to find those shield machines if you want to switch before finishing the game overall thanks bro appreciate you

You dont have to finish story. There is a spot on top of carrier where you can select either vehicles or characters. Choose characters and then you jump off carrier. Easy.

just find a machine and it'll give an option for playtime with your unlocked characters. the machine that transports you back to the helicarrier

well you don't have to complete story you need to complete earths mightiest then go to the city you want to free roam in and you have to find the red machine that gives you vehciles you choose the hulk and iron man icon on the right edge choose a character from there then back out of it and Hold your character selection button and BOOM there you have it

I bought this last year when the 3 lego games of marvel were in a bundle gold or the best one u get with all the dlcs (payed $15 for all let's go I'm on ps4) Im finally playing it since gotham knights coming out in 2022 and I wanted these games as kids but well u know life and I was trying to free roam in Malibu and saw u need to beat the story from the specific story line and area so thanks for the info man
