"how I would love to get you on my couch." Take it down a notch Lecter.

Wow this doctor guy was really offended over being critisized for missing something. I hope they found the cannibal later.

The real shock was from being able to read a doctor's handwriting.

I wonder how long Lector was standing behind him with the knife. Was he waiting and enjoying the moment of watching Will "realize"?

Hannibal: I'd love to get you on my couch
Will: Woah easy doctor, at least make me dinner first !
Hannibal: Poor choice of words ...

I love the expression on Hannibal's face after he gets a good look at the arrow he got stabbed with. Like he's impressed lol.

He was actually shocked that the Doctor had used pen instead pencil to write in the book

Norton does a terrific job with his expressions when his character realizes that his suspect is sitting in front of him-but denies the possibility.

I really hate when people criticize Norton, this dude is great

I LOVE the fact that there's no pause between Will starting to turn around and him being stabbed. No over-the-shoulder shot of Lecter just before, or any "introduction" like that to the attack. Just BAM, straight to it. Makes me feel like I'm being attacked by Dr. Lecter, almost.

A welcome change from most movies.

Note how Dr Lecter does not attempt to remove the arrows, that would only cause bleeding and would definitely kill him, he knows this, unlike most action movies ever.

He should have known that the psychiatrist was the killer, I mean the guy had a ponytail.

4:03 I love Hopkins' acting in this scene. The look on his face is like a mix of disbelief and amusement. "Did that really happen!?"

"Remarkable boy" that was Lecter's downfall. His hubris made him believe he was dealing with a boy when he was dealing with a man

He really likes Will. But the power of self preservation is paramount.

For anyone that doesn't know or didn't know the book Larousse Gastronomique is about French cuisine, and contains recipes for French dishes and cooking techniques. Ris de veau translates to sweetbread. Sweetbread is “the culinary term for the thymus gland (in the throat) and the pancreas (near the stomach) in calves, lambs and pigs.” They are neither sweet or made of bread. I believe it is just a dish containing roasted meat.

This film is criminally underrated, the dialogue is amazing 'remarkable boy, I do admire your courage... I think I'll eat your heart', also it's a tiny detail but you can actually see him pull the back up revolver from his ankle holster, I love how Lecter is actually proud of Will for out manoeuvring him. A true psychopath.
