I figured its because of him being in quadratum which is more realistic. I figure when he goes to the disney worlds he may actually turn into the more cartoony sora we all know pretty well. It just makes sense

What if sora ends up going to final fantasy worlds but this time there would be scattered /lost Disney characters instead of ff characters like in kh1 2 etc

I think this is Nomura's attempt at rebooting the franchise, without actually rebooting it. Ya know kinda like how Final Fantasy 7 Remake isn't actually a remake in the same vein as other remakes. The plot of that game, without spoiling too much, redefines what it means to be a "remake". I think KH4 is meant to redefine a reboot. It's giving the best of both worlds, giving the series a fresh start, but still continuing where we left off.

I hope this is Sora new look from here on out. I mean he came all the way from playstation 2 looking pretty much same. most kids now from kh1 release are all grown up in there late/mid 20s and 30s. I welcome the updated new look

I think as long as he’s in this world, this is his main look. The reason I say this is because when they released the saga art after the trailer was released, they have him in this look drawn up with forefinger sticking up, implying that that’s his main look

i feel like his look is going to be permeant because when you think outside the box a bit, sterlizia is dead and her heart went up into kingdom hearts. if she's alive there then wouldn't that mean they are inside of kingdom hearts itself? meaning sora can't go back because he really is in the afterlife in a sense. but another thing i want to point out is, vanitas is also dead and he is tied to sterlizia because he's why she's dead. soo could there be a possibility that well see vanitas in kh4?

It kinda bothers me that Sora looks more like Noctis now. At least make the hair a little more spikier.

Cool and all. But, I really look forward to the other worlds he'd visit. Plus, Donald has stated that whenever Sora, Goofy, and he visits certain worlds, often times magic will transform Sora and them to blend in with said worlds. Be it outfits or flat out different forms. Like with Atlantica, Monstropolis, and Toy Box.

Honestly, I think this look is somewhat permanent, but he'll have texture changes. Think about it: Sora in Quadratum in KH3 during the Yozora boss fight STILL looks cartoonish, but has realistic textures. If this is what he looks like now in KH4, his textures and outfit are probably the only thing that will change depending on the world. Either that or his design in Quadratum has been retconed.

Yes I always said he look realistic because of the world . But I think quadratum it’s the “real world “ and the other magic worlds are like “ out side the matrix “ worlds . I hope the entire game is just in quadratum
