I stsrted as a self-employed courier for business express when i was 21/22 and that was over 20 years ago.
After that it lead on to me setting up a haulage company running fleets of trucks worth over £150k each.

From little acorns bigger things can develop.
Since my haulage company i decided to sell up and travel the uk in my campervan and narrowboat.

In Poland, the work of a courier looks different: at 6:30 we are already in the warehouse. We have about 120 addresses a day, we drive dilapidated cars. We can't leave parcels in front of houses because someone will surely steal it, and if they don't steal it, the recipient will report it missing, and we also collect money for parcels. In Poland, the courier is treated like garbage...

I could never do your job. I would have no idea how to load the van correctly to spread the load weight evenly but still keep it in order so I get get to the items when I get to the address. I would feel my life drain away if I had to organise and deliver the amount of parcels that you had!

I worked for hermes and half the struggle was turning up in the morning and having to load up your vehicle get it all scanned in etc. If you are doing 300 deliveries it takes forever.
Anazon they sort it all for you

As a Amazon driver there is a lot here that I wish Amazon did. but also a lot that I hope amazon never does. The route re-order that you can do is something I wish we could do. everything being lose is something I hope Amazon doesn't go back too. But then again you have a lot of what we would class as overflow.

Before you park your van in the depot how do you know which loading bay is yours? Great video!

Was getting 97 pence a parcel in 2001, business express, And the last time i done multi Drop with my own van and insurance, I was getting paid per day £250.00 plus vat, And that for 100 drops, that was 2018. Today these company should be paying £300- £350 per day for a 100 drops, Only for a good multi drop Guy.

That's a cool little insight to the delivery world. I send a lot of parcels marked with fragile. Do you tend to treat them with care or like any other parcel?

Like the apartment you were showing us your uniform. You must do well for yourself.

Been at DPD since last July and I haven’t even took my cargo pants out the packaging. Always in the shorts 😂 We don’t get given the black t shirts as our depot only supply them to the warehouse stuff which is crap haha

Been a contractor since 2007. Been every were. Last 2 years spent with Dpd great company although I work in a great Depot. But your machine is called a Scanner I am assuming its Honeywell. Machine would confuse people :D lol But interesting to see how the British Operation works. Although the sorting stacking of the parcels is poor lucky enough mine are usually in a neat order.

Cheers for the inside view and throwing a parcel at the beginning probably means it's not a DPD promo ;-)
