KANDY TO ELLA TRAIN RIDE [INSTAGRAM PHOTO] SRI LANKA

I absolutely loved travelling from Kandy to Ella by train. If you're taking the train I'm sure you'll want to capture the moment. The blue train set against the green luscious backdrop makes for a beautiful shot. Here are a few tips to get the perfect photo.

1) Take a Tuk Tuk from Kandy to Peradeniya Railway Station. This station is less crowded and you'll have more chance of getting a seat on the train. It is still crowded so you my have to stand for part of the journey. People also exit the train at Kandy which can help.

2) If people are sitting and you're standing.. have a chat, be nice. Enquire where they are getting off and ask if they mind giving you their seat when they get off (not everyone is going to Ella) It took us 3 hours to get a seat.

3) If you simply can't get a seat but still want a photo, go into the bathroom. The window is open in the bathroom and you can take photos out the window. Have a look, line up your shot, then you can tell your subject where they need to stand.. easy!

I wonder if it’s actually too overloaded and not safe.. love the view from the mountain top.. it’s beautiful.. and that Instagram shot.. awesome! btw James, maybe you should cover more on tea plantations in Kandy since that’s what it’s known for.
