As an South East Asian, I have never met anyone with peanut allergy, or gluten intolerance or lactose intolerance in my entire life. And I'm pretty sure it's coming to an end.

As an Indian the first person I ever met who was allergic to peanuts was when I moved out of India.

Peanut allergy is very uncommon in most places other than North America... and I'd say it has nothing to do with not enough exposure... American kids have m&ms with peanuts in the middle, peanut Reeses and other stuff too. The staple food of American childhood is a PB&J sandwich. I personally think it has to do with the overuse of things such as peanut oil in processed foods in the US.

Come to India ...
In north India peanuts become staple diet during winters
In south and west India you will find it in all the daily cooked food dishes
In east India people consume it a lot..

In our country ( India 🇮🇳 ) peanuts are used daily in our meals as an ingredient e.g Poha, Sabudana, etc. which are our breakfast meals. It is also used as a side dish as peanut chutney and also as a sweet candy made out of jaggery and peanuts. So it is automatically taken in through our daily meal. And I didn't knew that there is a such kind of allergy in the world because we consumed it daily. But now I knew that it is caused due to lack of immunity against peanuts.
