I'm scared for the future; I'm in a teaching as a profession class and we had to watch this and answer questions about it. This is the explanation of the video, " The Danielson 'Framework for Teaching' is a meta-analysis of current educational research describing essential actions, linked to improved student learning, that effective teachers implement into their daily practice. Some states and many public school districts have adopted this framework and aligned performance rubrics to assess teacher success." I don't know, but it sounds pretty positive about this video...

Ms. Danielson takes public money. Teachers earn it.

Results are in for the last 30 years since this framework came out. The results are that we are below in scores while spending the most money. So let’s judge the framework on the results and make a better bigger boat that will hold more paper clips.

Micromanagement! It's always counterproductive. Ask all the competent veteran teachers, you'll find out. Which professional profession has this kind of evaluation?

My administrative training in grad school at a state university included the clinical supervision model of evaluation, which I implemented as principal, so I don't know why she claims that involving teachers in the evaluation process has never been done before. Also wonder about standardized test scores being used as basis for determining student performance. Could be teachers w/students who "outperformed" others were rated low because they were observed using drill & kill & teaching to the test

Why are the 'good' teachers never actually teaching in the classroom?

I can already tell you she does not know what she is talking about. I know this because none of these people know what they are talking about.

No chance CD actually taught high school, much less an AP class. This is a cash cow.

This method is being used to harass teachers all over the place. Sounds great in theory but ignores social / emotional / economic/contextual issues that hijack our work, and so this system places the blame on us. Yes, the quality of teaching in the classroom is an important issue. But not as important as what comes from home. Has she ever taught in the inner city? Students who arrive late every day, cut, high? Oh, guess that is our fault.

it is not at all unlikely that Danielson’s appraisal of the “problem”, like her dubious experience in the business of education generally, is ridiculously overstated to the point of being driven merely by connection rather than by qualification. Charlotte Danielson, like Willard Daggett and others of her kind are not honest people. Evil follows her.

She's a fraud. Have you figured that out?
