Fun story: When I went to see the movie at the theater, they accidentally played it with the wrong dub. After about 30 minutes of the audience shouting in frustration, the theater staff apologized, restarted the movie from the beginning, and offered everyone a free ticket for any future movie of their choice. I used my free ticket to watch the same movie again.

Fun Fact: Spencer Wan, one of the animators for the film, used spam emails he received as background textures for Hobie Brown's animation throughout the film.

21:25 fun fact. The number 42 also is relevant to Miles Morales’s first comic book appearance as the lottery ball that got him into Brooklyn Visions academy was also Number 42.

I'm still convinced this "canon event" thing isn't real, or nearly as important as portrayed, and Miguel is either misinterpreting what happened, or was duped, and was only saved from the ravages of that universe collapsing BECAUSE he didn't belong.

I absolutely love the Spot because he’s the first “scientist turned into a monster during experiment gone wrong” character who actually ACTS like a scientist.
He’s constantly experimenting and picking apart the broader applications of his powers over the course of the movie. And unlike every other supervillain (who usually just tolerates having a kryptonite) when he realises he can run out of holes, he quickly brainstorms a way to get rid of the weakness by recreating the accident that transformed him on a much larger scale. He's far from the joke everyone sees him as.

Fun fact: Jason Schwartzman who plays the Spot is the cousin of Nicolas cage who plays Spiderman noir. Schwartzman's mother is Talia Shire who is the sister of Godfather director Francis Ford Coppola and Cage's father is Coppola's brother.

Why do I bring this up? Because even if Cage is not in a sequel to one of his movies he somehow still is.

I think the slower part towards the beginning with Miles, his parents, and Gwen deserve so much love. For one, the scene where Miles is invisible and basically looking Gwen in the face as she says she’ll never see Miles again, reminded me so much of the moment in A Christmas Carol (Jim Carrey one). Doug, you know what I’m talking about because the way you talk about that scene always stuck with me. The hanging upside down scene with Miles and Gwen is beautiful and perfect. 10/10 moment. And the scenes with Miles talking with his mom make me emotional every time as someone who’s mom has died. And that’s the part of the movie that people think is the weakest.

The Canon Event Sequence is one of the most gorgeous pieces of art I have ever seen in my life.

The Spot was a surprising twist of a villain. He went from a throwaway joke to an existential threat that could destroy the whole universe.

Another small thing I love in this movie is when Spot starts out, you can see circles like someone starting a sketch and over time he loses them like he’s becoming more detailed.

It took 'till my second viewing of the film to realize that the narration from the opening is Gwen convincing their friends at the end.

You know what my favorite part of Spider-Man: Across the Spider-Verse is? In Miles' dorm room, to the left of the window, you can see a newspaper with a picture of Daisy Johnson/Quake from Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. that references when she was on the run during Season 4. Someone put that in the background as an easter egg, maybe because they were a fan of the show. This huge movie gave Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. more respect and recognition with that little inclusion than the mainline MCU ever did.

Miles and Gwen’s relationship was great. I really like when they’re talking while sitting upside down on the building, and when they’re at the rooftop party

A fun fact about this part: originally the cliffhanger was a little earlier, it was going to be when Prowler Miles puts his fist next to "our" Miles, and then end abruptly there. But when they showed this ending to test audiences, they apparently "got very angry", thus the decision to show Gwen gathering her team, and Miles ripping the glove, got added during the last few months of production to make the cliffhanger more hopeful.

I thought Miles uncle dying was his "uncle ben" moment as the other Spiders bring it up how they always lose someone.

I wonder what Stan Lee’s cameo would’ve been if he were alive this movie and Beyond the Spiderverse

The amount of easter eggs in this movie is staggering. The love for Spider lore the crew has really shines through

man the whole build up of Miles realizing he's in the wrong universe was such a masterpiece of tension and build up, catching every little hint like his mom's eyes are green, knowing about comic con, the off colours, the music build up. You could feel the dread growing in the theatre when watching it with other people as everyone starts catching on
