Ive read the WN even before the anime started. After the LN was announced i was also kept reading it. I think its also time to close the main story in few more volumes. Its was such a great run. Thanks fuze for creating such a vast verse.

It's unlikely that it'll actually end in 2025. Given the fact that Fuze also said during the time Volume 20 was released that he wanted to finish it at Volume 21, but then Volume 21 came and Fuze said he wouldn't be able to finish it in Volume 22 alone, so Volume 23 is likely gonna be at the end of this year or start of next year, but given that there is so much left to explain about many things in the series, it's unlikely that it will end in Volume 23.

Plus, Fuze also stated in the afterwords of Volume 17 that he will continue writing after-stories of the LN (just like what he did with WN) after the main story comes to an end.

So yeah, Slime won't 'truly' be ending any time soon.

There is also to consider the games, so Slime as a whole franchise likely won't be ending anywhere before 2030!

This also means we know that the anime has a better chance to continue. Most anime based off of light novels have a fair chance of not getting another season because of that, not unless they are wildly popular and successful anyway. But since we all now know the approximate number of volumes it will be in total, that also means producers can easily calculate the full cost to animate it all.

At least that’s my understanding of things with anime… and that’s not including the anime that are made just to advertise the Light Novels and doesn’t continue after the first season.
