The difference in your way you learn only what you are interested in, which means you can have some gap on important things that you avoid because are difficult for you . Also I would suggest that studying in places with other people teach you skill you can’t learn alone .

What if it's a non payment/debt college? I mean sometimes some teachers can teach us better than us on our own.

survival bias anyone??? as someone who has read a lot of books and information whilst having my own business, its isolating and not a lot of fun. I wish i went the university for the community aspect as waking up, working, gym bed everyday whilst not meeting anyone get old real quick

Agree and at the age people usually go to college one should ponder if they have the ability and discipline to do this. The advantages of college and university are: 1. building a network of peers,
2. access to different mentors
3. The material is on broader topics to start with narrowing as you further your studies. Allowing to find your specialisation.

Well it is only applicable if you are interested in softwares, history or some theory subjects, but it is not applicable for technical education like engineering.
